SOL 5/31: Today

Thanks goes out to Michelle at Literacy Learning Zone for my slice today. She borrowed this idea from Rachel at Finding Joy. Love this simple snapshot of what I am thankful for, reflecting about, and anticipating in this day, and even in this very moment. Rachel calls it Sunday Stills.

today: class picture day. So proud of my group of 20 kindergartners. These photographs are a treasure.
want to be:
further ahead in preparing trimester 2 report cards that are due in 10 days.
blessings:
my health and the health of my family. Couldn’t be more thankful.
thinking:
when will the cold winter days give way to spring?
planning:
short getaway next week with my husband – early celebration of our 20th anniversary!
writing:
lesson plans for my evaluation tomorrow – my first in 3 years.
loving:
the warm rice bag nestled on my lap; heat is comfort to me.
grateful:
dishwasher, washer, & dryer. Can’t imagine living in a time when they didn’t exist.

As you can see, some are more heartfelt and carry deeper meaning, and others are more obvious, but carry just as much appreciation!

If you are looking for a new idea for your next slice, try a Sunday Still.

Thanks for pointing me to this inspiration for a slice. You have so much to be grateful for. I love that you put in the modern conveniences. Where would we be without them?

  2. This is a wonderful inspiration for a slice! Totally borrowing for later this month…. The warm rice bag sounds so comforting and perfect for this endlessly long winter we find ourselves in. Of course, I usually have a cat in my lap, and that’s kind of like a rice bag, right? Ah, dishwashers. My old house doesn’t have one, and the kitchen is too tiny to squeeze one in without an extensive remodel and I have yet to save money for that. But someday, I am going to be very, very grateful to have a dishwasher again!
